- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] minced onion
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] red wine
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] red wine vinegar
- 3 tablespoons [45 mL] sugar
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] currant jelly

- Heat oil; melt in minced onion.
- Deglaze pan with red wine and red wine vinegar.
- Add sugar and currant jelly.
- Boil until there is no liquid left.
- Cool.
