Hungarian-Style Pickled Peppers
Comments: Use Hungarian yellow wax or any color bell peppers.
  • 8 cups [2 L] water
  • 4 cups [1 L] vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon [15 g] sugar
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] salt
  • 1 heaping tablespoon [15 mL] pickling spices
  • Any color sweet peppers
  • Fresh dill sprigs
  • Hot sterilized jars and lids
  • Bring together water, vinegar, sugar, salt and pickling spices to a boil.
  • Leave to simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Slice or cut sweet peppers into wedges removing membranes and seeds.
  • Pack sterilized jars with sweet pepper slices or wedges and a sprig of fresh dill.
  • Fill jars 1/2 inch [1.3 cm] from top with boiling vinegar mixture.
  • Seal jars.
