Apple Relish

  • 1/2 pound [227 g] raisins
  • 1 3/4 pounds [794 g] apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1 orange, peeled, white skin removed, seeded and chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups [300 g] sugar
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] whole cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] cinnamon
  • Still hot small sterilized jars with lids
  • Mix and bring together all ingredients to a boil.
  • Leave to boil for 30 minutes, stirring from time to time.
  • Pour hot mixture into hot sterilized jars; seal immediately.
  • Leave to cool completely, then check seals.
