Swiss Cheese Quiche Lorraine

  • 8 slices fried bacon, crumbled
  • 1 [9-inch / 23-cm] unbaked pie shell
  • 2 cups [450 g] grated Swiss cheese
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1 large can evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 1 tablespoon [15 g] grated Parmesan cheese
  • Sprinkle bottom of pie shell with bacon crumbs; top with grated Swiss cheese.
  • Well mix together beaten eggs, evaporated milk, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce and salt.
  • Pour into pie shell.
  • Sprinkle all over with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake into a preheated 375°F [190°C] oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until the blade of a knife comes out clean from its center.
  • Set aside for 5 minutes, before serving.
