- 1 cup [250 mL] long grain white rice
- 1 3/4 cups [440 mL] cold water
- A little salt

- Pour rice into a bowl; stir and rinse several times.
- Drain rice.
- Into saucepan, mix together rice and salted cold water.
- Bring to a boil over high heat; boil until steam vents shape onto the surface, for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Cover tightly; simmer over really low heat, for 15 minutes.
- Fluff rice with a fork and serve.
