- 1/2 medium-size onion
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 small carrot
- 3 tablespoons [45 g] butter
- 1/4 pound [113 g] bacon dices
- 1/2 pound [227 g] ground beef
- 14 ounces [398 mL] spaghetti sauce
- 1 cup [250 mL] water
- Salt, to taste
- Nutmeg, to taste
- 1 pound [454 g] arborio rice
- 1/3 cup [80 mL] grated Parmesan cheese

- Chop onion, celery stalk and carrot.
- Into a casserole, mix together chopped onion, celery and carrot, butter, bacon duces and ground beef.
- Brown for approximately 10 minutes.
- Mix in spaghetti sauce and water.
- Simmer for approximately 1 hour, stirring from time to time; sprinkle with salt and nutmeg.
- Boil arborio rice following packaging directions.
- Transfer drained arborio rice into a serving dish; coat with sauce.
- Coat arborio rice with sauce, then evenly sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Serve immediately.
