- 1 large cabbage, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups [375 mL] carrots, grated
- 1 cup [250 mL] green pepper, chopped
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] shallots, chopped
- 1 cup [250 mL] mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons [45 mL] sugar
- 3 tablespoons [45 mL] vinegar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons [7.5 mL] salt
- 3/4 teaspoon [3.75 mL] dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] celery seeds
- 1 small green pepper, cut in rings [optional]

- Combine cabbage, carrots, green pepper and shallots; set aside.
- Combine mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard and celery seeds.
- Stir well and pour over cabbage preparation; mix well.
- Cover and refrigerate until cold.
- If you like, garnish with green pepper rings.
