- 1 pound [454 g] ground beef
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] dry onion soup mix
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] water
- 1 medium head lettuce, torn in bite-size pieces
- 1 large tomato, cut in wedges
- 1 small thinly sliced onion, in rings
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] chopped green pepper
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] sliced ripe olives
- 1 cup [250 mL] sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 6 ounces [170 g] corn chips

- Brown ground beef in skillet.
- Sprinkle onion soup mix over meat; stir in water.
- Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
- In a salad bowl, combine lettuce, tomato wedges, onion rings, green pepper, ripe olives and cheese.
- Toss well; spoon meat on top of salad.
- Top with corn chips and serve.
