Seasoned Ground Beef Stuffed Rolls

Comments: Nice to have on Christmas day, after Christmas Eve's meal. A soup can be served before serving these rolls, hot or cold, along with a green salad.
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Butter
  • Oil
  • 1 pound [454 g] lean or regular ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
    or
    1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
    +
    1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] onion salt
    +
    1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] garlic salt
    +
    1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] pepper
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] prepared mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can chicken gumbo soup concentrate [do not add water]
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] instant rice [optional]
  • Approximately 24 salad rolls
  • Brown onion into a little butter and oil mixture.
  • Mix in ground beef, salt or salt mixture and pepper.
  • When ground beef is done, mix in mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chicken gumbo soup concentrate and instant rice [optional].
  • Simmer over medium heat for approximately 15 minutes, to evaporate liquids and get desired consistency.
  • Stir every once in a while, so that mixture does not sitck to the bottom of the saucepan.
  • Cool before stuffing salad rolls.
