- 1 small onion, chopped
- Butter
- Oil
- 1 pound [454 g] lean or regular ground beef
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
or
1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt +
1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] onion salt +
1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] garlic salt +
1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] celery salt
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] pepper
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] prepared mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 1 can chicken gumbo soup concentrate [do not add water]
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] instant rice [optional]
- Approximately 24 salad rolls

- Brown onion into a little butter and oil mixture.
- Mix in ground beef, salt or salt mixture and pepper.
- When ground beef is done, mix in mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chicken gumbo soup concentrate and instant rice [optional].
- Simmer over medium heat for approximately 15 minutes, to evaporate liquids and get desired consistency.
- Stir every once in a while, so that mixture does not sitck to the bottom of the saucepan.
- Cool before stuffing salad rolls.
