- 3 long buns
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] chopped green pepper
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] dried minced onion
- 1 [15-ounce / 426-mL] can chili with beans
- 1 [15-ounce / 426-mL] can tamales
- 3 ounces [85 g] sharp Cheddar cheese [3/4 cup / 190 mL], shredded

- Half buns lengthwise; toast.
- Add chopped green pepper and minced onion to chili with beans.
- Spread chili mixture over buns.
- Half drained tamales; arrange on top of chili mixture.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Broil until cheese melts and sandwiches are heated through, for about 10 minutes.
