- 1 [1-tablespoon / 15-mL] pack unflavoured gelatin
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] cold water
- 1 cup [250 mL] boiling water
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] soy sauce
- Assorted open-face sandwiches
Variation

- Into a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water; allow to stand until gelatine is moistened.
- Pour in boiling water, stirring constantly until gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Stir in soy sauce.
- Chill, stirring occasionally, until mixture mounds slightly when dropped from a spoon.
- Meanwhile, layer bread slices onto wire racks, onto a cookie sheet.
- Garnish bread slices to your liking.
- Carefully spoon glaze over garnishings, to completely cover; chill until set.
Variation
- Add a generous dash garlic powder to gelatin mixture.
