- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] salad oil
- 1 small onion, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] vinegar
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] brown sugar
- 1 [6-ounce / 170-mL] can tomato paste
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] water

- Into a casserole, combine salad oil, minced onion and minced garlic.
- Simmer over low heat, stirring for 10 minutes to brown onion.
- Stir in dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, tomato paste and water.
- Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes more.
