- 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter
- 1 onion, really finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups [500 mL] water
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] chili powder
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] vinegar
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup [250 mL] catsup
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] Tabasco sauce

- Melt butter into a saucepan.
- Soften together butter grated onion and minced garlic into melted butter.
- Pour in water before mixing in salt, chili powder, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, catsup and Tabasco sauce.
- Stir until well combined.
- Leave to simmer over medium-low heat for 30 minutes.
- Leave to cool to room temperature before serving.
- Keep refrigerated.
