Easy Pineapple Sauce for Ham

  • 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
  • 2 [8-ounce / 227-mL] each cans undrained crushed pineapple, packed in its own juice
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] lemon juice
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon [7,5 to 15 mL] Dijon mustard
  • Into a small saucepan, mix together brown sugar, cornstarch and salt.
  • Stir in undrained crushed pineapple, lemon juice and Dijon mustard.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
  • Boil, stirring, for 1 minute.
  • Serve warm.
