- 1/2 cup [125 mL] vegetable oil
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons [7.5 mL] kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] freshly ground pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] Cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] paprika
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] wine vinegar
- 5 1/2 cups [1.375] ketchup
- 1 cup [250 mL] packed brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons [60 mL] tomato paste
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] apricot jam
- Tabasco sauce, to taste
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup [250 mL] soy sauce
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] liquid honey
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] Dijon mustard

- Prehat oil into a saucepan until hot.
- Stirring, soften together chopped onions and minced garlic into hot oil, over medium heat.
- Add kosher salt, freshly ground pepper, Cayenne pepper and paprika.
- Cook for approximately 10 minutes more.
- Stir in wine vinegar and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Mix in ketchup, brown sugar, tomato paste, apricot jam, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, liquid honey, lemon juice and Dijon mustard.
- Stirring often, leave mixture to simmer for 1 hour, covered.
