Crunchy Fruit Squares

  • 2 cups [500 mL] rice krispies cereals
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] minced dried fruits [apricots, raisins and/or dates...]
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] fast cooking rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] lightly packed brown sugar
  • Mix together cereals, minced dried fruits and rolled oats; set aside.
  • Into a saucepan, melt together corn syrup and brown sugar.
  • Add cereal mixture; stir delicately until well combined.
  • Lightly press mixture into a square 8-inch [20-cm] lightly greased pan.
  • Refrigerate until cool.
  • Cut into squares.
