Crunchy Chocolate Coated Chocolate Bars

  • 4 [1 3/4-ounce / 50 g each] 'Mars' chocolate bars, chopped
  • 6 tablespoons [90 g] sweet butter
  • 3 cups [750 mL] toasted rice cereals
Coating
  • 6 1/2 [1-ounce / 28-g each] sweet or semi-sweet chocolate squares, chopped
  • Butter a square 8-inch [20-cm] pan.
  • Into a casserole, melt together, over low heat, chocolate bars and sweet butter, stirring until smooth.
  • Delicately stir in toasted rice cereals.
  • Press into prepared pan.
  • Prepare then evenly spread coating over cereals mixture.
  • Refrigerate until set before cutting into bars.
Coating
  • Into the top part of a double-boiler, melt chopped chocolate, stirring until smooth.
