- 16 cups [4 L] plain popped corn kernels
- 1/2 cup [115 g] butter
- 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] baking soda

- Transfer popped corn kernels into a large brown bag [an unused grocery bag is perfect].
- Into a casserole, heat together butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt for 1 1/2 minutes.
- Stirring, heat mixture for approximately 2 to 3 minutes more, until large bubbles take shape.
- Remove casserole from heat and stir in baking soda.
- Mix well.
- Pour mixture over popped corn kernels; close and vigourously shake the bag.
- Transfer bag into microwave oven; heat on 'HIGH' for 1 minute.
- Well shake bag; microwave on 'HIGH' for 1 minute more.
- Well shake bag; microwave on 'HIGH' for 30 seconds more.
- Well shake bag; microwave on 'HIGH' for 30 seconds more.
- Spread caramel pop corn onto a large baking sheet.
- Leave to cool slightly, then enjoy!
