- 1 medium-size broccoli [approximately 1 1/4-pound / 570-g]
- 1 1/4 cups [375 mL] ultra cream

- Peel broccoli stalk, up to flowerets.
- Cut broccoli stalk into 2-inch [5-cm] chunks.
- Half stalk pieces lengthwise; transfer broccoli stalk pieces and flowerets into a large casserole with a lid or use aluminum foil.
- Pour cream over broccoli.
- Cover; bring to a boil, over medium heat.
- Simmer until broccoli is almost tender, 3 to 4 minutes.
- With a slotted spoon, remove broccoli pieces and flowerets from casserole; arrange onto a heated serving plate.
- Keep warm.
- Boil cream mixture for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring, until reduced.
- Pour over broccoli flowerets and stalk pieces.
- Serve immediately.
