Creamy Braised Tiny Onions

To easily peel onions, just cut off tops and stems, making sure to leave ends intact so that onions do not separate while cooking; cover onions with hot, boiling water and set aside for 5 minutes. Drain and immediately peel onions.

  • 20 tiny [to marinate] onions, peeled
  • 1 cup [250 mL] cream [35%]
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • Arrange peeled onions into a shallow, oven-proof dish.
  • Pour cream all over onions.
  • Salt and pepper.
  • Cover dish; bake onions into preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  • Uncover; bake onions for 10 to 15 minutes more, until tender.
