- 6 to 8 medium carrots
- 6 medium onions
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- Pepper
- Melted butter
- 1 cup [250 mL] medium white sauce
- 1/3 cup [80 mL] grated cheese
- Paprika

- Preheat oven to 325°F [160°C].
- Peel and slice carrots and onions.
- Alternately layer carrot and onion slices into a buttered oven-safe dish, sprinkling each layer with salt and pepper.
- Pour some melted butter all over, then pour in white sauce.
- Cover dish.
- Bake into preheated oven, for approximately 40 minutes.
- Uncover dish; sprinkle all over with grated cheese and paprika.
- Bake for a little longer, to melt the cheese.
