Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots

  • 1 pound [454 g] peeled carrots, into 1/2-inch [1.3-cm] thick slices
  • 1 cup [250 mL] salted boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] brown sugar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Into a saucepan, boil carrot slices into salted boiling water until soft yet still a little crunchy.
  • Well drain carrot slices; set aside.
  • Melt butter into saucepan.
  • Mix in brown sugar, until completely melted.
  • Then mix in reserved carrot slices.
  • Salt lightly and generously sprinkle carrot slices with freshly ground black pepper.
  • Reheat, and serve.
