- 12 cups [3 L] milk
- 2 1/4 cups [460 g] sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoon [6 mL] salt
- 25 to 30 tablespoons [375 to 450 mL] cornstarch
- 15 tablespoons [225 mL] cold milk
- Vanilla, to taste
- Fruits, to decorate [optional]

- Heat together 12 cups [3 L] milk, sugar and salt.
- Dissolve cornstarch in cold milk.
- Stir into heated milk.
- Transfer to a double-boiler.
- Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Take away from heat before stirring in vanilla
- Pour into individual small bowls [mixture thickens as it cools down].
- Refrigerate until ready to serve, cold, decorated with fruit pieces if desired.
