- 2 1/2 cups [565 g] butter
- 2 1/2 cups [460 g] sugar
- 10 eggs
- 4 cups [560 g] flour
- 1 pound [454 g] golden raisins or walnuts

- Cream together butter and sugar; beat in eggs.
- Mix in flour, until firm enough to shape dough into a 1 1/2-inch to 2-inch [4 to 5-cm] roll.
- Refrigerate dough until cold.
- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Slice dough.
- Arrange onto a cookie sheet already lined with parchment.
- Bake into preheated oven until just golden, checking often.
