- 2 1/2 cups [625 ml] butter
- 2 1/2 cups [625 ml] sugar
- 10 eggs
- 4 cups [1 L] flour
- 1 pound [454 g] golden raisins or walnuts

- Cream together butter and sugar; add eggs.
- Mix in flour, until firm enough to shape into a 1 1/2-inch to 2-inch [4 to 5 cm] roll.
- Refrigerate until cold.
- Slice into cookies.
- Arrange cookies on a piece of parchment and bake in a 350°F [180°C] oven, checking.
