Sugared Dough Cookies

  • 4 1/2 pounds [2 kg] butter
  • 2 1/4 pounds [1 kg] sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 1/2 pounds [3 kg] flour
  • Maple extract, to taste
  • Nuts, to taste
  • Cream together butter and sugar; beat in eggs, flour and maple extract.
  • Evenly mix in nuts.
  • Shape dough into a small roll; refrigerate until cold.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • Slice dough.
  • Arrange onto a cookie sheet already lined with parchment.
  • Bake into preheated oven until just golden, checking often.
