- 4 1/2 pounds [2 kg] butter
- 2 1/4 pounds [1 kg] sugar
- 4 eggs
- 6 1/2 pounds [3 kg] flour
- Maple extract, to taste
- Nuts, to taste

- Cream together butter and sugar; beat in eggs, flour and maple extract.
- Evenly mix in nuts.
- Shape dough into a small roll; refrigerate until cold.
- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Slice dough.
- Arrange onto a cookie sheet already lined with parchment.
- Bake into preheated oven until just golden, checking often.
