- 1 cup [250 ml] sliced onion
- 1 cup [250 ml] sliced green pepper
- 1/4 cup [60 ml] shortening
- 1 can [48 ounces / 1.4 L] old fashioned tomato rice soup
- 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 cups [310 or 375 ml] water
- 2 tablespoons [30 ml] lemon juice

- Cook sliced onion and green pepper in shortening until soft.
- Add, stirring, old fashioned tomato rice soup, water and lemon juice.
- Heat.
