Oven-Baked Stuffed Pork Chops

  • 24 approximately 1/2-inch [1.3-cm] thick pork chops, approximately 5 pounds [2.27 g]
  • 2/3 cup [160 mL] chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] poultry seasoning
  • 1 cup [225 g] melted butter or margarine
  • 1 cup [250 mL] hot water
  • 3 1/5 quarts [3.2 L] crusts removed white bread cubes
  • 1 [48-ounce / 1.4-L] can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 cups [375 mL] milk
  • Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • Brown pork chops on both sides into a heavy bottom frypan.
  • Arrange into a 12 x 18 x 2-inch [30 x 45 x 5-cm] oven-safe pan.
  • Mix together chopped onion, poultry seasoning, melted butter or margarine and hot water.
  • Well mix in bread cubes.
  • Stuff each pork chop with approximately 2 tablespoons [30 mL] of mixture.
  • Mix together cream of mushroom soup and milk; pour all over stuffed pork chops.
  • Bake into preheated oven for approximately 1 hour, until pork chops are golden and tender.
