Oven-Baked Pork Chops

Servings: 24 [1 pork chop with garnish and sauce per serving]

  • 24 pork chops [approximately 1/2-inch / 1.3 cm thick], approximately 5 pounds [2.27 g]
  • 2/3 cup / 3 ounces [160 ml / 85 g] chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon [5 ml] poultry seasoning
  • 1 cup / 1/2 pound [250 ml / 227 g] melted butter or margarine
  • 1 cup [250 ml] hot water
  • 3 1/5 quarts / 14 ounces [3.2 L / 397 g] cubed white part of bread
  • 1 can [48 ounces / 1.4 L] cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 cups / 12 ounces [375 ml] milk
  • Brown chops on both sides in a heavy bottom pan.
  • Arrange in an oven-proof pan [12 x 18 x 2 inches / 30 x 45 x 5 cm].
  • Mix together onion, poultry seasoning, butter and water.
  • Mix well with bread cubes.
  • Garnish each chop with approximately 2 tablespoons [30 ml] of the garnishing.
  • Mix together soup and milk; pour all over chops.
  • Bake in a moderate oven [350°F / 180°C] for 1 hour or until chops are tendre.
