Spiced Pecans
Comments: Easy and can be prepared ahead of time; keep into airtight containers.

  • 1 egg white, slightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] cold water
  • 1/2 cup [100 g] sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] ground clove
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 4 cups [1 L] pecan halves
  • Preheat oven to 250°F [120°C].
  • Well mix together all ingredients except pecan halves.
  • Leave to rest for 15 minutes.
  • Mix in pecan halves.
  • Evenly spread mixture over 2 buttered cookie sheets.
  • Bake into preheated oven for 1 hour.
  • Immediately transfer pecan halves apart onto plates.
  • Leave to cool completely before serving or storing.
