- 4 to 6 large sweet 'Vidalia' onions
- 8 ounces [227 g] cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] minced deviled ham
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
- Few peppercorns

- Peel onions.
- Cut away centers from onions using a special tool to core apples [reserve centers for another use].
- Beat cream cheese until light and creamy.
- Fold in minced deviled ham, salt and peppercorns.
- Stuff onion centers with mixture.
- Refrigerate for many hours, until stuffing is hard, before serving.
