- 1/2 cup [70 g] all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] corn flour
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] pepper
- 4 cups [1 L] diagonally sliced 1/4-inch [6-mm] or less thick okra slices
- 1 egg ,beaten
- 1 cup [225 g] shortening

- Well mix together all-purpose flour, corn flour, salt and pepper.
- Into a separate bowl, mix together beaten egg and okra slices.
- Dip okra slices into flours mixture.
- Into a large frypan, heat shortening until hot.
- Fry okra slices into hot fat until golden brown and crisp.
- Drain onto paper toweling before serving.
