Salsa

  • 1 [28-ounce / 796-mL] can whole peeled ptmatoes
  • 1 [8-ounce / 227-mL] can tomato sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup [80 mL] chopped green pepper
  • 1/3 cup [80 mL] green chiles
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] pepper
  • Drain tomatoes; reserve liquid.
  • Cut tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Place in bowl.
  • Add reserved liquid and all remaining ingredients.
  • Keep in refrigerator.
