- 1/2 cup [115 g] butter
- 6 tablespoons [90 mL] milk or half and half
- 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 4 1/2 cups [1.6 L] powder sugar [icing sugar]
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla

- Combine butter, milk and chocolate in pan.
- Boil 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and add powder sugar.
- Beat until smooth; add vanilla.
- Spread on cake.
