Chocolate Frosting

  • 1/2 cup [115 g] butter
  • 6 tablespoons [90 mL] milk or half and half
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 4 1/2 cups [1.6 L] powder sugar [icing sugar]
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla
  • Combine butter, milk and chocolate in pan.
  • Boil 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add powder sugar.
  • Beat until smooth; add vanilla.
  • Spread on cake.
