Part 1
- 1/2 cup [115 g] butter
- 1 cup [140 g] flour
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] icing sugar
Part 2
- 1 cup [200 g] sugar
- 2 tablespoons [17.5 g] flour
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] baking powder
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] lemon juice
- Grated rind of 1 lemon
Frosting

- Mix together all 'Part 1' ingredients.
- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Bake in an 8-inch [20-cm] square pan for 15 minutes.
- Sift together 'Part 2 ' sugar, flour and baking powder.
- Add beaten eggs, lemon juice and grated rind.
- Spread on baked crust and bake at 350°F [180°C] for 25 minutes.
- Mix together frosting lemon juice and icing sugar.
- Frost bars with mixture.
