- 1 cup [250 mL] water
- 1/2 cup [115 g] margarine, do not use butter
- 1 1/2 [1-ounce / 28-g each] squares unsweetened chocolate
- 2 cups [400 g] sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] sour cream
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 2 cups [280 g] flour
- 1 can milk chocolate frosting

- Combine water, margarine and chocolate in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in sugar, eggs, sour cream, baking soda and salt.
- Slowly add flour; mix well.
- Pour into greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch [39 x 26-cm] sheet cake pan.
- Bake at 375°F [190°C] for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Frost.
