- 1 stick melted butter or margarine
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- Whipped cream or ice cream
Cake mixture
- 1 cup [140 g] flour
- 1 cup [200 g] sugar
- 1 cup [250 mL] milk
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla
- 3 teaspoons [15 mL] baking powder

- Put melted butter or margarine in a 9 x 9-inch [23 x 23-cm] pan.
- Cover with the above cake mixture.
- Pour pie filling over the top.
- Bake 45 to 50 minutes in a 375°F [190°C] oven.
- Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
