- 1 1/2 pounds [680 g] ground chuck
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] rolled oats
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] finely chopped onion
- 2 teaspoons [10 mL] pepper
- 1 cup [250 mL] tomato juice

- Combine all ingredients thoroughly and pack into a loaf pan, or form into a loaf in regular pan.
- Bake 1 hour at 350°F [180°C].
- Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
