Peanut Butter Cookies [2]

Comments: A recipe from my grandmother.
Do not overbake; cookies should just have a light brown color around edges.

  • 1/2 cup [115 g] butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup [100 g] sugar
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] brown sugar
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 1/4 cups [175 g] flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon [3.75 mL] baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] vanilla
  • Cream together butter or margarine, peanut butter, sugar and brown sugar.
  • Add beaten egg.
  • Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to creamy mixture, beating well.
  • Chill dough; form into walnut size balls.
  • Place balls on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Flatten bals with a fork.
  • Bake at 375°F [190°C] for about 10 minutes.
