Banana Mousse
IngredientsPreparation
  • 1 [3 ounce / 85 g] pack lemon-flavored gelatine
  • 1 cup [250 ml] hot water
  • 1 cup [250 ml] whipping cream
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
Sauce
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 cups [375 ml] milk
  • 1/2 cup [125 ml] sugar
  • 4 tablespoons [60 ml] flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 ml] salt
  • 1 teaspoon [5 ml] vanilla
  • Dissolve lemon-flavored gelatine in hot water.
  • Refrigerate until it starts to set.
  • Whip cream until stiff peaks form.
  • When gelatine is ready, add to whipped cream, along with bananas.
  • Whip once more, until well mixed.
  • Refrigerate until completely set.
  • Serve with sauce.
Sauce
  • In a small saucepan, beat egg yolks with a fork.
  • Slowly pour in a little milk.
  • Add sugar, flour and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Add remaining milk.
  • Cook over medium heat until thickened.
  • Flavor with vanilla and cool.
  • Serve.
