- 3 eggs
- 2 tablespoons [30 ml] all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup [60 ml] soft butter
- 1/2 cup [125 ml] sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 ml] allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 ml] nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon [5 ml] baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon [1.25 ml] salt
- 3/4 cup [190 ml] dark molasses
- 1 [9-inch / 23cm] unbaked pie shell
- Whipped cream

- Lightly beat eggs, add flour, soft but not melted butter, sugar, allspice, nutmeg and salt.
- Mis well.
- In a saucepan, over medium heat, bring molasses to a boil; add baking soda.
- Cook, stirring, until there is no more foam.
- Cool; add egg mixture.
- Mix well.
- Pour into pie shell.
- Cook for approximately 30 minutes in a 300°F [150°C] oven.
- Cool completely.
- Cover with whipped cream.
