- 3 beaten eggs
- 1 cup [250 ml] sugar
- 5 tablespoons [75 ml] water
- 1 teaspoon [5 ml] vanilla
- 1 cup [250 ml] flour
- 1 teaspoon [5 ml] baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon [1] salt
- 16 ounces [500 ml] strawberry jelly
- Icing sugar

- Gradually add, beating, sugar water and vanilla to beaten eggs.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg mixture.
- Beat until smooth.
- Grease and flour a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches [39 x 26 cm] roll pan; pour in dough.
- Bake in a 375°F [190°C] oven for approximately 12 to 15 minutes, until done.
- Loosen sides and immediately turn upside-down on a cloth, covered with sifted icing sugar.
- Garnish with strawberry jelly; roll cake starting from a narrow end.
- Wrap roll in a towel; cool.
- Unwrap and slice.
