Lace Cookies
Servings: Approximately 5 dozens
IngredientsPreparation
  • 1/2 cup [125 ml] butter
  • 1/2 cup [125 ml] molasses
  • 3\4 cup [190 ml] icing sugar
  • 1 cup [250 ml] flour
  • 1 tablespoon [15 ml] rum
  • Heat butter and icing sugar until melted.
  • Add molasses and rum, mix well; cool.
  • Add flour; mix.
  • Drop by 1/4 teaspoons [1 ml], 3 to 4 inches [8 to 10 cm] apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake in a 375°F [190°C] oven for approximately 8 minutes, until golden brown all around.
  • Cool for a few seconds.
  • With a saptula, transfer cookies to a wire rack; cool.
