- 3 large eggs, whites and yolks separated
- 1 1/2 cups [375 ml] milk
- 2 cups [500 ml] sifted flour
- 4 teaspoons [20 ml] baking powder
- 1 tablespoon [15 ml] sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 ml] salt
- 4 tablespoons [60 ml] melted butter
- 1 cup [250 ml] chopped pecans

- Beat egg yolks with milk.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt; add to egg yolks/milk mixture.
- Beat until smooth.
- Add melted butter; beat.
- Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; add pecans.
- Add to dough.
- Heat a waffle iron; pour enough dough to cook one, desired sized, waffle.
- Cook until steam stops coming out from the waffle iron and waffle is golden brown.
