Herbsaint is an aniseed flavored liquor as pernod is a liquorice flavored liquor.

Crushed ice
1 1/2 ounces [45 ml] pernod or herbsaint liquor
1/2 teaspoon [2.5 ml] fine sugar
Cool a shaker and a champagne glass with crushed ice.
Shake together pernod or herbsatin liquor and sugar in the shaker until sugar is dissolved.
Pour into cooled champagne glass.
