IngredientsPreparation
  • 1 to 2 ounces [30 to 60 ml] bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 2 teaspoons [10 ml] fine sugar or 2 sugar cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 ml] bitters or Tabasco sauce
  • Few drops Angostura bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon [5 ml] herbsaint or pernod
  • 1 lemon peel
  • Old Fashioned glass
  • In a cooled shaker, mix together bourbon or rye whiskey, fine sugar or sugar cubes, bitters or Tabasco sauce and Angostura bitters.
  • Cool glass with ice cubes.
  • Pour herbsaint or pernod; tilt glass on all sides to cover it with liquor.
  • Empty glass.
  • With a spoon, delicately mix ingredients in shaker.
  • Do not shake.
  • Through s sieve, pour mixture into the glass.
  • Garnish with lemon peel.
