Baked Fish

Servings: 5 or 6
  • 1 pound [454 g] fish fillets
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] grated onion
  • Paprika [optional]
  • Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • If fish fillets are large, cut into 5 or 6 serving pieces.
  • Sprinkle both sides of fish fillets with salt and pepper.
  • Mix together melted butter or margarine, lemon juice and grated onion.
  • Dip fish fillets into mixture; arrange into an ungreased square baking pan.
  • Pour remaining margarine mixture over fish.
  • Cook uncovered in oven until fish flakes easily with fork, 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Serve, sprinkle with paprika if desired
