- 1/2 cup [115 g] butter
- 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] milk
- 2 cups [500 mL] rolled oats
- 2 cups [280 g] all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] nutmeg
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] whole raisins, chopped dates or chopped nuts

- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Cream together butter, brown sugar, eggs and milk.
- Stir in rolled oats.
- Slowly stir in already sifted together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
- Then stir in raisins, chopped dates or chopped nuts.
- Arrange spoonfuls mixture apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake into preheated oven until golden, for approximately 12 minutes.
- Cool on racks.
