Dates, Raisins or Nuts Oatmeal Cookies
  • 1/2 cup [115 g] butter
  • 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] milk
  • 2 cups [500 mL] rolled oats
  • 2 cups [280 g] all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] whole raisins, chopped dates or chopped nuts
  • Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • Cream together butter, brown sugar, eggs and milk.
  • Stir in rolled oats.
  • Slowly stir in already sifted together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
  • Then stir in raisins, chopped dates or chopped nuts.
  • Arrange spoonfuls mixture apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake into preheated oven until golden, for approximately 12 minutes.
  • Cool on racks.
