- 1/2 lemon
- 1 cup [250 mL] water
- 3/4 cup [150 g] sugar
- 2 tablespoons [17.5 g] flour
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] nutmeg
- 3 cups [750 mL] peeled and cored apple slices
- 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter
Dough
- 1 cup [140 g] all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1/3 cup [75 g] shortening
- 3 tablespoons [45 mL] cold water

- Preheat oven to 400°F [200°C].
- Thinly slice lemon half.
- To soften rind, simmer lemon slices into boiling water.
- Mix together sugar, flour and nutmeg; mix into lemon slices.
- Cook until thick.
- Delicately mix in apple slices and butter.
- Transfer into a greased pie plate.
- Prepare dough; roll dough until thin.
- Cut dough into triangles.
- Arrange dough triangles over apple mixture.
- Bake into preheated oven, for approximately 40 minutes.
Dough
- Mix together flour and salt.
- Cut shortening into mixture.
- Mix in cold water.
