Hot Apple Juice or Cider Drink
Comments: This drink can be prepared ahead of time and reheated just before serving, along with a fruitcake or assorted cookies.
  • 8 cups [2 L] apple juice or cider
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 1 small nutmeg nut
  • 1 piece fresh ginger [optional]
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] brown sugar
  • Simmer together apple juice or cider, cinnamon sitcks, whole cloves, nutmeg nut and, if desired ginger, for 3 hours.
  • Stir in orange juice, lemon juice and brown sugar.
  • Serve hot, into a punch bowl.
