- 1 1/3 teaspoons [6.6 g] sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons [7.5 mL] salt
- 1 cup [250 mL] cornflour
- 1 1/3 cups [330 mL] boiling water
- 4 tablespoons [60 g] butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] baking powder
- 1 1/3 cups [330 mL] whole milk

- Well mix together sugar, salt and cornflour.
- Pour boiling water over mixture, stirring; melt in butter.
- Leave to cool.
- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Meanwhile, beat eggs until light.
- Mix beaten eggs and baking powder into cooled mixture.
- Stir in milk.
- Pour into an 8-cup [2-L] buttered bread pan.
- Arrange pan into a casserole filled with boiling water.
- Bake into preheated oven, for approximately 35 minutes.
