- 1/4 pound [113 g] salt pork, diced
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] chopped onion
- 2 cups [500 mL] tart apple dices
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] well-packed brown sugar
- 2 cups [500 mL] freshly made breadcrumbs
- Few grains of salt

- Fry salt pork dices until crunchy.
- Mix in and fry chopped onion.
- Mix in tart apple dices and brown sugar.
- Cook until apple dices are tender.
- Stir in breadcrumbs; salt.
- Thoroughly mix; leave to cool.
